Great to help with sleep apnea
"So earlier this year I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, which I was aware that I had it and had been aware of it for years, but I knew I was not going to be able to wear the mask on my face at night, I can't even sleep with my hair covering my ear. I did get a CPAP machine & I did try to wear the mask, 3 different styles of masks, but I couldn't get used to them. I went to visit a friend and slept elevated while I was there. She noticed that I was breathing normal when I was sleeping elevated. I slept this way the whole time I was visiting and the terrible snoring and stopping breathing was better so when I got home, I slept elevated and asked my husband to let me know if there was a difference. The next morning he told me that he noticed the difference too so I started looking into a way to sleep comfortably elevated without ending up with a crick in my neck. They make foam wedges that will elevate you but I didn't see this as the solution either, then I found this pillow online and purchased it in hope that it would be more like a pillow instead of a foam wedge & it is. I can adjust it where it is comfortable to sleep, I am elevated when I sleep and even if it isn't a CPAP machine it is something I can live with. It doesn't say anything about it helping with sleep apnea in any advertisement nor am I a doctor, but if the people close to me are telling me that sleeping elevated I don't quit breathing and I'm not snoring like I was, I feel that I must be benefitting from sleeping elevated & this pillow is the only thing I have found that helps me do that without going out & buying a new bed with the base that elevates the bed. I am very happy with my contour pillow & would buy it again. I only gave it 4 stars because it is a little firm, but I am hopeful that as I sleep on it, it will get broken in and not be as firm, I've been sleeping on this pillow every night for 2 weeks now & I do believe that it will conform to me & we will be having many, many nights of rested sleep."
