"5 Stars - I Love my Mattress Genie! I have had my Mattress genie for 5 days and I absolutely love it! WOW, the comfort is unbelievable! I fell and fractured a rib on my right side a month ago. I had been sleeping in a recliner and decided to look into buying an adjustable bed. I was lucky to find the Mattresss genie. I am so thankful I ordered it. I have not slept in my recliner since I've received it. The very firsat night I slep on it, I slep 8 hours. I was so amazed when I woke up and saw that I had slep for such a long time. For the price of it...it is unbelievable. The knee wedge is nice also. I highly recommend the Mattress genie. if you don't want to spend a ridiculous price for an adjustable bed. ...this is a great price for the comfort and relaxation! Buy it, you will love it too!...Contour Living Customer

This is a great product to raise the head of the bed. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars, is because it is very-very slow to go down when I push the "down" or "flat" buttons on the control.

I like the fact that it I sleep better with my head raised, but the hand held unit doesn't show how much air is in which would help drastically, since it consistently looses air it would be easy to match the number that make you sleep the best. add the gauge and fix the leaking (I did everything to stop it from leaking with the gasket. didn't work .

I *possibly* have a bad disc in between the thoracic and lumber regions of the spine that causes radiating pain just to the right of my spine, I just had an MRI done a few days ago and I'm on the fence about surgery, there are other options out there. The Mattress Genie has, so far, proved very helpful in eliminating the 4am pain that has woken me up almost every morning the past 2 years, just by elevating the head of the mattress a few inches does the trick, and I suppose it takes pressure off that part of my spine. The only difficult part is, I have been sleeping on a flat mattress for 36 years (I am 36 y/o) and it's my first time sleeping in an incline position and I can tell it's going to take some getting used to. I didn't think it would work because I have a $2500 G.S. Stearns ultra firm mattress and if you've ever slept on one of these you'll know they are stiff as wood, so what happens is the "bending point" is a little lower than what I would like (because it's so stiff) but it works. The Genie probably works best on non-firm, softer mattresses as one would imagine. I gave 4 stars only because when you hit the inflate (up) button, you get a chorus of banshees, they really should muffle the sound with some sound deadening, and when you hit the deflate (down) button the clicking sound of the valve opening is pretty loud too, but all in all not a bad buy if you suffer from the same or similar back pain as I do. I have owned it for about a week or so and no problems as of yet (knock on wood).

The Mattress Genie has done everything that it is advertised to do. The only problem I had was at first the genie leaked down some.

Unfortunately got a defective unit, started deflating about a month after purchase. First time ever contacting a company for warranty service, but found it to be excellent. I was sent a replacement that works perfectly. Thank you so much

I slept in a recliner for two years because I have sleep apnea and was afraid to sleep in my bed. I have now slept in my bed using the genie and have had three solid nights of sleep, waking up at a decent hour with my cats tucked around me. I couldn't be happier. I have a product that has saved me thousands of dollars over an adjustable bed and taken away my fear of having a sleep apnea attack. After all, if a Genie can lift a garage door, why can't it lift a mattress!

Besides the air hose having 2 permanent crimps in it, and a motor that's loud enough to wake up the dead, it is a very nice unit and serves the purpose.

This product works just like it said it would. Easy to inflate , slow deflation yet does what it says it will.
Be aware if you use it on a king size bed you and your partner will play "see saw" with ever move you make.
Makes me wish I would have purchased two twin size.

Because of knee and back problems, I've had to sleep in a recliner for years. Now I'm back in bed because of the Mattress Genie! Works great! Thank you so much!

Bought for my 94 year old mother. She has back issues as well as acid reflux. With the Mattress Genie she spent the first full night in bed in years.

This is my third Mattress Genie. The first one lasted four years, the second about two and half years. I was ok with that. This one I got the end of August, after 5 weeks it started deflating and now goes flat in less than two hours. The reviews here seem overly favorable to those on Amazon, many deflation problems there.
Not sure what I'm going to do, but I'm feel I'm totally screwed. Of course I got rid of the original box after four weeks. I haven't called about warranty service yet, but if I have to pay for shipping both ways, I'm out $40 more dollars.
This used to be a good product, now I'm not so sure with the changes that were made. Inflation is quieter than with previous models, that's a plus. But deflation as many have mentioned is very difficult, until of course it starts losing air then you have nothing. :(
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSE:
We do apologize about the inconvenience you are currently experiencing with your new Mattress Genie. A lot of times during the set up process the O-ring does fall out of its groove which causes leaking, I would check that to make sure its in it spot, about 98% of the time, that is the issue. If the problem persists, we of course would take care of that for you and send you out a new one (in which you wouldn't have to pay shipping either way). I can totally understand the frustration, but in the light of it all, we are here to help and get you the product you ordered working 100%.
Note, all our products are covered under a 1 year warranty, so no one is ever just "out" their money, we care that you are comfortable :)

The up (inflate) function works well the down or the flat (deflate) function no so well. It takes forever for the wedge to deflate and never without pressure of some sort.
** ContourLiving Response: Miraldi, Thank you very much for your comments and review. The Mattress Genie relies on gravity to deflate and will work much more effectively when there is weight on the mattress.

I have had my Genie for a month it helps to be able to sleep upright. I have Sleep Apnea
and hopefully this will help, with my CPAP machine. The only drawback is that,my mattress slips off, because it as well as my box springs are covered. A cloth cover might solve that problem. I sew so maybe I'll make a cover.

I'm replacing the old one that I had to pump up every night. Now that chore is history--and the hose LOCKS to the pump, so that's a great improvement.

My mom bought this for a heath issue and it did not work for her. She bought the queen and once she laid down, the air went right to the opposite side of the bed. So, unless you always have 2 people in the bed when you blow it up, I can’t see how it would work for anyone. Very poor design & a waste of time and money.
Customer Service Response:
I do apologize the Genie did not work as expected for you, as I can clearly understand what you are talking about as the air shifts from the side you are laying on to the other. As it is just one bladder unit, we normally do recommend for the larger beds to lay in the middle to prevent this from happening.

I have been sleeping on my left side for 11 years due to a back fusion surgery. The pain wakes me at night at which point I sleep sitting up the rest of the nigh. Then I got a CPAP to top it off so thought this was the answer. Problem: Do not get the thin one unless you are a really small person. Unfortunately my pain comes from laying down for too long and "sitting" for too long so I rid myself of one pain and simply replace it with another. I have to return it and just deal with it.

My need was for a means to provide adjustable bed for my husband when we travel. He is a stroke survivor and cannot sleep on a flat bed. We have used this device once and it performed well.
Contour Living Customer (Submitted on 10th Aug 2014)
inflates easily, deflates or goes flat very slowly (for the latter, it was faster to disconnect, lean on the wedge & help it to deflate). Looks sturdy and elevates as I expected. It's nice to be able to change the level of inflation easily.
