Feedback from a CPAPMax Pillow customer: "I bought the pillow for my husband. Since he has been using it he has been sleeping much more comfortably which has made his CPAP use much greater. So his health is better. And since he is sleeping better so am I. I recommended this to anyone who is a CPAP user."...7/9/13

While the original Contour CPAP Pillow has been incredibly successful in addressing mask interference issues, our goal with the CPAPmax Pillow was to create a pillow for sleep apnea patients that not only performs better, but is also more comfortable than most traditional pillows. The pillow's dual sided design features fiber on one side and memory foam on the other, which appeals to a broad spectrum of consumer preferences. One challenge that we faced in utilizing these popular materials was insuring that proper support and stability was maintained so that the integrity of the pillow's CPAP mask pockets stayed intact.
We were able to stabilize the memory foam and fiber material by inserting a center layer of high resiliency foam to provide form, support, and relief from comfort issues. Additionally, heat build-up, often an issue with CPAP patients who use humidified air, was resolved with a unique perforation process that ventilates all the way through the pillow. This combined with a 3-D mesh cover that keeps the user suspended above the ventilated foam, allows air to circulate and humidity and moisture to dissipate.
The result is a pillow designed specifically for CPAP therapy users, but comfortable enough for anyone to enjoy.

I've been sleeping on the pillow for about 3 weeks now and haven't had a problem with the comfort (it's certainly not a brick like some reviewers I've seen wrote). The cut-out sides aren't *exactly* the fit I need (I use a full-face, Mirage Quatro mask, and the forehead portion does hit the pillow), it's as good as I can expect, and it hasn't caused me to wake up in the middle of the night. That's a drastic improvement from before the pillow, when I would almost always wake up needing to adjust my mask when it got pushed into a position in which air started leaking.

The pillow is quite small compared to a regular pillow, and quite an odd shape as you can see. Fortunately however, it does actually work pretty well. As a slide sleeper with a real need for EXACTLY the right height or no sleep coming my way I was afraid to try it at first, but desperation to find something that worked forced me to try this, and I'm glad I did. Immediately upon arrival I assumed I'd want the "extra" pad gone, as I require just a slight rise for my neck- surprising considering I'm 6'1, 265 lb, but that's what works! As soon as I laid my head on it though, I replaced the pillow to the original (full) version and it turned out just right. My first night was good news- bad news: I got the most uninterrupted sleep I'd gotten since starting on my CPAP machine, but when I checked my "score" it was terrible- I had somehow pushed the mask enough to cause a leak, costing me the entire 20 points for "good mask seal" for the night!
Still, I had gotten a great night's sleep, so I was OK with that for the first night. Night 2 was much better, and I found my spots. Starting on one side, turning to the other and eventually back where I started? Yeah, it's crazy, but that's how I settle my bad back in before finally getting some rest, and just 3 nights into it everything started becoming routine. I do wish the pillow was a little more straight across the front instead of the deep curve, but it's nothing I can't live with, so the pillow is here to stay; the benefits far outweigh that minor issue. Besides, that shape is likely right for other people, so I don't really consider it a fault. Considering the variation between everyone's sizes, they did a pretty good job!
All in all I'd say this is definitely worth a try for anyone using a CPAP machine, it really will give you room to work with. BTW, I use the full face mask, so it's pretty much worst case scenario and still does the trick. Worth the risk, I'm glad I took the chance.

The only pro about this pillow is the cutouts if you lay on either your right or left side while sleeping. The strap to hold the cpap hose is useless if you use one of your own pillow cases, which I did, as I didn't want to spend the extra money for a specialty pillow case. I haven't had a problem with the cpap hose, regardless of what pillow I use. The pillow itself is WAY to small, both length and width wise. Removing the middle insert helped with the pillows overall height, but still a little to high for my neck. I bought it through the manufacturer, even though I had to pay for shipping instead of free shipping through Amazon, because of the return policy being better through the manufacturer. I've used it for a few weeks now, and at this point, I'm not sure if I will be returning it. I plan on switching my own pillow with the contour pillow every other night to see which one I prefer.

This was a replacement for a CPAP pillow I lost while traveling. I'm very happy to have another one to enjoy.

I have always used down pillows but recently had to start using a CPAP mask and I was very frustrated with the mask while sleeping on the down pillow. I saw the pillow at a local store in Denver called Youcan Toocan and the salesperson highly recommended it based on customer feedback. You will have to kill me first to take this pillow away from me. My mask stayed sealed and I was comfortable. The added bonus is that I have had rotator cuff repair on both shoulders and it supports the shoulders for pain free sleeping as well. Ahhh! It is wonderful!

I have only used this for 4 nights. I think I'm getting used to it only because I used a conventional pillow for 70 years.
I like that it keeps the cpap hose over my head.

I have purchased nearly every CPAP mask and CPAP pillow known to man in my quest for a nights sleep without many interruptions to fix leaks in my masks and to be comfortable. Many dollars and six months later; finally, THIS IS THE ONE!! As soon as I laid my head on this pillow I knew it was the one. There is no interference with the full face mask and it is so comfortable! It is so adjustable that there is no way you can not be comfortable! Thank you, Contour, for the CpapMax pillow!

Unfortunately this pillow is very uncomfortable. In order for my face mask to fit in the cut out spot you need to have a long neck. I am returning it.

First night, not as comfortable as expected. Second night got better. Third night and beyond performed as expected. Now can't sleep with out it.

I bought this as a Xmas present for my husband and wow did it work on the first night. He usually is restless but now he doesn't move and appears to sleep much better as the mask is not moving as it did before with his old pillow.

this pillow works very well if you are a side sleeper who also uses a CPAP

I like the shape of the pillow but the firmness is a little to hard for me. I still use it because it fits my mask very easy. But they do need to make different pillow cases the blue one i have is very cold this time of year here in Michigan.

I love the pillow. It is very comfortable and I sleep without any leakage. In addition to lying on your sides to sleep an added advantage is you can lay on your back.
I'm not sure if it is the pillow or coincidence but since I got the pillow, when I lay on my back, it hurts less.

With the pillow I no longer have problems with my mask. Great purchase

I've only have had this pilllow a few day's now. What I can say about it , yes it's a bit small but I wear a nasal pillow mask and my mask has yet to fall off . I feel it"s a very comfortable pillow. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars it"s a bit pricey

Well, to be fair, I've only used this pillow for about 4 nights now, but I don't think it's made for a person with a short neck. If you lay your neck in the front cutout section and then my head doesn't extend high enough into the pillow, which leaves my Cpap mask hitting the bottom part of the pillow that sticks out instead of the side
cutout. The pillow is very firm which I could adapt to if the pillow fit my head. I even took the center foam out to make the pillow shorter, but it is less than 1 inch, so I may be sending this back, because my mask hits the bottom portion of the pillow.
